October Fun--New Hampshire, College Friends and Cake Wrecks

Pre-Nor'Easter we had visits from Grandma and Grandpa Elwood and my old college friends, Shauna and Holly.  This year with Grandma and Grandpa we decided to venture up to Conway, New Hampshire, somewhere we've always talked about going but have never been.  Dang! I'm sad we've never been.  It was spectacularly beautiful and we had a great time.  Shauna, Holly and I covered A LOT of territory in 3 days.  We took in five of the mansions in Newport, Rhode Island, went to Vermont in a downpour, and spent a great afternoon in Boston before they had to join me at a youth Harvest Dance at the stake center. (Nothing could be more fun than that?!)
Ok, so this isn't really us.  Dennis, Chi, Cardon and I did this, but Em took a photo of the back of Grandma's head instead of us going by.  This was so dang fun!
Utah State should pay us for advertising!
The gondola ride to the top of Wildcat Mountain

As you can see, the scenery and the day were spectacular!

We hauled our picnic to the top for lunch with an awesome view.
That is Mt. Washington in the background.
Maine and the Atlantic Ocean are in the background!

We took a hike down through a gorge to some lovely little waterfalls.

Beautiful New Hampshire!

This is a stop along the Kancamagus Highway.  Another check mark on my bucket list!
The lovely ladies--Holly and Shauna
My sister Chantel is a HUGE fan of Cake Wrecks so when I heard they were coming on their book tour to West Hartford, the kids and I went on a quest to surprise Chantel with an autographed book.
Soooo funny!

  1. New Hampshire looks amazing! I've really got to get a "back east" trip in the fall someday.
